Rookies John Pacella and Jeff Reardon combined on a six-hitter and Elliott Maddox drove in three runs as the Mets defeated the Braves, 6-0. The Mets took a 4-0 lead in the first inning on run-scoring singles by Claudell Washington, Steve Henderson and Maddox and a groundout by Mike Jorgensen. Maddox drilled a two-run double in the third.
