Capping a comeback, Milt May hit a grand slam in the ninth inning to power the Giants to an 8-7 victory over the Cardinals. The Giants were aided by the wildness of John Littlefield, who walked the first two batters in the ninth. After an error by Mike Phillips loaded the bases, Kim Seaman relieved and retired Darrell Evans, but it was a different story with May, who hit his game-winning homer.
