A six-run outburst in the second inning that included a bases-loaded triple by Rod Carew carried the Angels to a 6-3 victory over the Blue Jays. Joe Rudi singled and Bobby Grich walked to open the stanza.

After one out, both runners scored on a single by Stan Cliburn. Two passes then filled the sacks and Carew emptied them with his triple. On the next pitch, Don Baylor singled to score Carew. [The Sporting News]
