Scattering eight hits, Fergie Jenkins notched his 255th career victory, pitching the Rangers to a 7-1 decision over the Orioles. The Rangers took the lead in the second inning on a triple by Buddy Bell and sacrifice fly by Pat Putnam.

A double by Bump Wills and singles by Al Oliver and Rusty Staub drove in three runs in the sixth. Ken Singleton homered for the Orioles' lone counter in the eighth before the Rangers iced the verdict with a three-run smash by Jim Sundberg in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
