The Twins pushed across a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to shade the Red Sox, 5-4. With one out in the eighth and the score tied, 4-4, Rob Wilfong doubled. Ken Landreaux then received an intentional pass but Danny Goodwin spoiled the strategy by shooting a single to right that scored Wilfong. Reliever Al Williams went six innings, allowing two hits and one unearned run to gain the victory and Doug Corbett got the final three outs to notch his 11th save. [The Sporting News]
