A triple by Cesar Cedeno in the 10th inning drove home the winning run as the Astros shaded the Phillies, 3-2. The score was tied, 2-2, in the 10th when Jose Cruz drew a two-out walk and Cedeno followed with a shot down the right field line.

Houston had tied the contest in the seventh on a pinch-single by Art Howe off reliever Tug McGraw. The Phils had a 2-1 lead as the result of a steal of home by Larry Bowa in the fifth frame. [The Sporting News]
