The Rangers ended Steve Stone's winning streak at 14 games by beating the Orioles, 7-4. The veteran righthander, in quest of a record of 16 straight wins, was kayoed in the fourth inning.

The Rangers scored four runs in the first inning on a two-run single by Buddy Bell, run-scoring single by Rusty Staub and an error by Baltimore shortstop Kiko Garcia. A single by Jim Sundberg made it 5-0 in the third and the Rangers extended the lead to 7-0 with a run-scoring single by Al Oliver and a double play in the fourth. [The Sporting News]
