Primarily used as a reliever, Dave LaRoche made one of his infrequent starts and turned in the first complete game of his major league career, pitching the Angels to a 5-4 victory over the Blue Jays. LaRoche yielded only five hits, but they included three homers. The Angels came from behind to win when Bobby Clark drove in two runs with a two-out, bases-loaded single in the eighth inning.
