Driving in three runs with a homer and double, Ellis Valentine paced a 6-5 victory over the Braves, extending the Expos' winning streak to six games. The Expos were trailing, 3-0, in the third inning, when Andre Dawson extended his hitting streak to 18 games with a two-out single and Valentine followed with a round-tripper.

In the fifth, winning pitcher Charlie Lea tripled for his first major league hit and Dawson doubled to tie the score at 3-3.
