Glenn Hoffman slammed a two-run homer in the third inning and ignited a three-run seventh with a double to lead the Red Sox to a 7-2 victory over the Brewers. Hoffman's homer gave the Sox a 2-0 lead in the third and a sacrifice fly by Jim Rice later in the inning made the score 3-0.

After Hoffman's leadoff double in the seventh, he eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Fred Lynn. The other runs scored on a run-scoring single by Carlton Fisk and RBI groundout by Rice. [The Sporting News]
