An eight-run explosion in the first inning carried the A's to an 11-2 trouncing of the Twins. A single by Mike Heath plated the first two tallies of the big inning and the others came on a two-run double by Dave McKay, two-run single by Jeff Cox and two-run homer by Rickey Henderson.
