The Expos extended their winning streak to seven games with a 4-3 victory in the first half of a twin bill, but the Mets came back to capture the nightcap, 4-3. The lidlifter was tied, 3-3, going into the bottom of the 10th, when Ron LeFlore drew a one-out walk and stole second. After Rodney Scott walked, Andre Dawson stroked a single that plated LeFlore.

In the second game, Lee Mazzilli blasted a two-run homer for the Mets in the fourth inning and Jerry Morales connected with the bases empty in the sixth. Mark Bomback, Dyar Miller and Neil Allen combined on a six-hitter, with Allen getting the save, and stopped Dawson's hitting streak at 19 games. [The Sporting News]
