A three-run homer by Glenn Hubbard climaxed a Garrison finish as the Braves scored five runs after two were out in the ninth inning to defeat the Dodgers, 6-4. The Braves trailed, 4.1, and after the first two batters were retired in the ninth, Jeff Burroughs reached first base on an error by third baseman Ron Cey.

After pinch-hitter Mike Lum walked and pinch-hitter Charlie Spikes singled home one run, Steve Howe replaced Rick Sutcliffe on the hill and was greeted by a run-scoring single by Jerry Royster. Don Stanhouse then took over from Howe and was tagged for Hubbard's big blast. [The Sporting News]
