A four-run outburst in the seventh inning lifted the Red Sox to a 7-3 victory over the Brewers. The score was tied, 3-3, when Carl Yastrzemski began the seventh with a bunt single and moved to second on a sacrifice by Jim Rice.

After Dwight Evans was intentionally walked, a single by Glenn Hoffman plated Yaz. Rick Burleson forced Hoffman at second, but Dave Stapleton continued the rally with a single that scored Evans. Fred Lynn then climaxed the uprising with a two-run double. [The Sporting News]
