A two-run homer by Rod Carew in the 15th inning ended a marathon struggle and gave the Angels a 4-2 triumph over the Twins. The victory was the Angels' fourth straight and the defeat was the Twins' seventh in succession.

Carew's game-winning shot came with two out and Freddie Patek aboard via a one-out infield hit. The Angels had tied the score in the eighth, getting a pair of markers on a bases-loaded single by Carney Lansford. [The Sporting News]
