Pounding out 16 hits, the Pirates whipped the Cubs, 11-3. A two-run homer by Bill Madlock snapped a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning. Tim Foli cracked a two-run double in the sixth and the Bucs added four runs in the seventh, scoring on a single by Foli, doubles by Eddie Solomon and Omar Moreno and a single by Dave Parker.
