Vida Blue received credit for his first victory since coming off the disabled list, combining with reliever Greg Minton to pitch the Giants over the Astros, 5-4. The Giants broke a 2-2 tie in the third on an RBI single by Mike Ivie and scored two runs in the fourth on a throwing error by Houston first baseman Art Howe with the bases loaded.
