Completing the three-game series sweep, the Giants triumphed over the Astros, 6-5, in 12 innings. Jack Clark led off with a single and went to third on a single by Darrell Evans. After Mike Ivie lined out, Rennie Stennett followed with the game-winning single.

The Astros had scored two runs in the top of the 11th, but the Giants came back in the bottom of the frame when a double by Stennett and single by Jim Wohlford drove in the tying tallies. Mike Rowland, who pitched the 12th inning, picked up his first big league victory. [The Sporting News]
