Vida Blue allowed only three hits and pitched the Giants to a 3-1 victory over the Braves. The Giants scored a run in the fifth inning on a safe bunt by Bill North, a balk and single by Larry Herndon. Darrell Evans then homered in the sixth to produce what proved to be the winning run.
