After pitching perfect ball for 6 2/3 innings, Bert Blyleven settled for a two-hitter in a 5-0 victory to expand the Pirates' lead to two games over the Expos in the East Division race. Rowland Office singled to spoil Blyleven's bid for the second no-hitter of his career. The veteran righthander hurled a gem while with the Rangers against the Angels in 1977.

Rodney Scott accounted for the Expos' other hit with a two-out single in the ninth. In the first inning, when the Pirates scored four times, Tim Foli drove in a run with a groundout and Bill Madlock drove in two runs with a single. Foli homered in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
