The Twins won a pair from the Angels, taking the first game, 8-1, behind the six-hit pitching of Roger Erickson, and adding the second game, 6-5, as Jerry Koosman picked up his 11th victory of the season. The Twins registered four markers in the first inning of the opener as Mike Cubbage, Butch Wynegar and John Castino drove in runs and another tallied on an error.

The Twins started fast again in the first inning of the second game with a two-run single by Cubbage and sacrifice fly by Wynegar. Glenn Adams blasted a two-run triple in the fifth and Ron Jackson tripled home a run in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
