Homers by Bob Watson and Reggie Jackson powered the Yankees to a 3-1 victory over the Mariners. Watson broke a 1-1 tie with a leadoff homer in the fourth inning and Jackson provided an insurance marker with his round-tripper in the eighth. Rich Gossage picked up his 19th save.
