Reggie Jackson singled home the tie-breaking run in the third inning and Bobby Murcer had three RBIs to lead the Yankees to a 6-4 victory over the Mariners. After RBIs by Murcer and Jackson produced a 3-2 lead, the Yanks added three runs in the seventh, one on a double by Aurelio Rodriguez and two on a double by Murcer.
