Al Oliver knocked in four runs and Jim Sundberg and Bump Wills batted in three apiece as the Rangers gained a 12-6 victory in the first game of a twi-night doubleheader, but Jim Gantner took over the batting honors in the second game with three hits and three RBIs, pacing the Brewers to an 8-3 triumph.

Jim Sundberg and Oliver each homered with a man on base in the opener. Cecil Cooper and Charlie Moore drove in two runs apiece for the Brewers. Cooper, who homered in each game, had two more RBIs in the nightcap. [The Sporting News]
