Jose Cruz drove in both runs as the Astros posted their club-record 10th straight victory, defeating the Cubs, 2-1, behind the two-hit pitching of Nolan Ryan. Cruz clouted a homer in the fourth inning and broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth with an RBI single following a pass to Craig Reynolds, sacrifice by Ryan and an error by Cubs second basemen Mike Tyson.
