. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Combining on a four-hitter, John Tudor and Bob Stanley pitched the Red Sox to a 5-1 verdict over the Angels. The Red Sox scored twice in the fifth inning on an error by California shortstop Bert Campaneris and a double-play grounder. A sacrifice fly by Glenn Hoffman produced a seventh-inning run and Carl Yastrzemski capped the scoring with a two-run homer in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
