Ron Jackson opened the frame with a single, reached second when right fielder Jorge Orta bobbled the ball and scored on a one-out single by Butch Wynegar. After singles by Dave Edwards and Hosken Powell filled the bases, an infield hit by John Castino scored Wynegar.
