After winning the completion of the previous day's suspended game, 7-5, in the 15th inning, the Twins also defeated the Blue Jays in the regularly scheduled contest, 5-2. Resuming play in the suspended game, which was halted after 14 innings, Butch Wynegar walked to open the 15th. Alfredo Griffin missed the throw to second on a grounder by Mike Cubbage and both runners were safe. After a sacrifice by Ken Landreaux, Dave Edwards drove in the tie-breaking tally with a single and Pete Mackanin added an insurance run with a squeeze bunt.

The Twins clinched their second victory of the day with three runs in the second inning. Wynegar led off with a triple, Rick Sofield followed with a homer and one out later Ron Jackson also hit for the circuit. [The Sporting News]
