Fergie Jenkins tossed a six-hitter as the Rangers shaded the Blue Jays, 3-2. The Rangers scored twice in the first inning on a hit batsman, singles by Johnny Grubb and Al Oliver and a sacrifice fly by Rusty Staub. After a single by Pat Putnam, double by Jim Sundberg and intentional pass to Dave Roberts loaded the bases in the sixth, Mike Richardt produced the deciding marker with a single to left.
