Homers by Dale Murphy and Gary Matthews powered the Braves to a 4-3 victory over the Cubs. The Cubs' Lynn McGlothen had a no-hitter entering the seventh inning before Bob Horner beat out an infield single.

Chris Chambliss followed with a single and Murphy then drilled a ball into the right field bleachers. Matthews connected for the circuit in the eighth to account for the deciding run. [The Sporting News]
