Scott Sanderson and Bill Lee combined to pitch the Expos' third straight shutout, defeating the Giants, 9-0. Tim Wallach, rookie outfielder from Denver (American Association), hit a homer in his first official time at bat in the major leagues to feature the Expos' 10-hit attack. The Expos scored five of their runs in the fourth inning, all unearned as the result of three errors by Giants' center fielder Larry Herndon. [The Sporting News]
