A two-run homer by Dale Murphy in the eighth inning was the key blow as the Braves won their seventh straight game with a 6-5 verdict over the Pirates. Trailing, 5-3, going into the bottom of the eighth, the Braves scored one run when Bob Horner hit into a double play. After Chris Chambliss walked, Murphy connected for the circuit.
