. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Bob Watson knocked in five runs with a grand slam and a tie-breaking 10th-inning double to lead the Yankees to an 8-5 triumph over the Red Sox. The bases-loaded blast came in the sixth, following a walk to Bobby Murcer, double by Oscar Gamble and intentional pass to Reggie Jackson.

The score was 5-5 when Gamble began the Yankees' 10th with a single and was forced at second on an attempted sacrifice by Joe Lefebvre. Watson then lined an RBI double to right-center. Successive singles by Rick Cerone, Fred Stanley and Aurelio Rodriguez produced two more runs. Jackson drilled a solo homer in the second. [The Sporting News]
