Don Robinson pitched a four-hitter and Mike Easler and John Milner provided batting support as the Pirates defeated the Expos, 4-0. Easler started the scoring with a homer in the second off Steve Rogers, who was stopped on his string of 21 consecutive shutout innings.

Easler also singled in the seventh, stole second and scored on a single by Milner. Another single by Milner produced one of the Pirates' final two runs in the ninth. The fefeat left the Expos with a lead of one game over the Phillies and 3½ over the Pirates in the East Division. [The Sporting News]
