A three-run homer by Ken Henderson climaxed a four-run rally in the ninth inning that gave the Mets a 10-7 triumph over the Cubs. After Lee Mazzilli stroked a single for his fifth RBI of the game to tie the score in the ninth, he stole second.

Joel Youngblood then was intentionally walked to set up a possible inning-ending double play, but Henderson cracked an 0-1 pitch by Bruce Sutter over the left field fence. Dave Kingman belted two homers for the Cubs, while Mazzilli had a two-run round-tripper for the Mets. [The Sporting News]
