Brian Downing and Dan Ford batted in two runs apiece in support of Frank Tanana, who pitched the Angels to a 6-2 victory over the Rangers. The triumph was the seventh in the last eight decisions for Tanana, bringing his record to 10-10. Dave Skaggs hit a sacrifice fly to produce the Angels' initial run in the second inning, Downing rapped a two-run single in the third and Ford delivered a two-run single in the seventh.
