George Brett rapped two singles in four trips and brought his average back to .400 for the first time since September 4 as the Royals piled up 16 hits in a 13-3 thrashing of the A's. Brett drove in the Royals' first run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning and was credited with his 13th game-winning RBI of the season. Brett also knocked in another run during the course of the game and scored twice. John Wathan and Clint Hurdle had three RBIs each.
