Doug DeCinces smashed a homer after a single by Rick Dempsey in the 12th inning to lift the Orioles to an 8-6 victory over the Blue Jays. In a game of ups and downs, Al Bumbry hit a two-run homer for the Orioles to tie the score at 3-3 in the third and Blue Jays rookie outfielder Paul Hodgson knotted the count at 5-5 with his first major league homer in the sixth. The Blue Jays went ahead when Steve Braun belted his first homer of the season in the 10th, but the Orioles rallied to keep the game going when Lee May drove in the tying tally with a pinch-double in the home half.
