. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Rich Murray drove in two runs with a pair of singles and Gary Lavelle pitched three scoreless innings in relief to lead the Giants to a 7-3 victory over the Reds. Murray delivered a run-scoring single in the first inning when the Giants took a 3-0 lead.

The other two runs came on an error and a passed ball. After the Reds tied the game in the top of the fifth, the Giants came back in the bottom of the frame on a single by Terry Whitfield, a walk and RBI single by Murray. The Giants tallied three more runs in the eighth on RBI singles by Larry Herndon, Milt May and Whitfield. [The Sporting News]
