. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Ted Simmons smashed two homers, including his seventh career grand slam, to lead the Cardinals to a 10-2 rout of the Pirates. Simmons blasted a leadoff homer in the second inning. His grand slam came in the seventh stanza after singles by Tommy Herr and Jim Kaat and an intentional walk to Keith Hernandez. Simmons also singled home a run during a four-run ninth that was capped with a three-run homer by George Hendrick. [The Sporting News]
