. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Rallying for four runs in the eighth inning, the Padres captured a 7-5 decision from the Dodgers. The Padres trailed, 5-3, when Dave Winfield cracked a one-out double, went to third on a single by Randy Bass and scored on a single by Luis Salazar.

After a walk to pinch-hitter Craig Stimac loaded the bases, a pass to Broderick Perkins forced in the tying run. Barry Evans then lifted a pop fly behind second base which Davey Lopes lost in the sun for an error, allowing Salazar to score and putting the Padres ahead, 6-5. Gene Richards followed with a single for an insurance run to cap the outburst. [The Sporting News]
