Unleashing a 15-hit attack, the Orioles outslugged the Red Sox, 11-6, in a game that featured six home runs. The Orioles had a solo shot by Ken Singleton in the first inning, two-run blast by Eddie Murray in the fourth and leadoff clout by Dan Graham in the fifth.

The Red Sox got a two-run round-tripper by Jim Rice and bases-empty blow by Dwight Evans, both in the eighth, and a two-run bash by Carlton Fisk in the ninth.
