The Twins set a club record for consecutive victories with 11 in a row by sweeping a doubleheader from the Rangers, 6-3 and 4-1. Geoff Zahn, getting relief help from Doug Corbett, picked up the win in the lidlifter as Ron Jackson, John Castino, Roy Smalley and Bombo Rivera each collected two hits.

The Twins broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning of the nightcap with two runs on a hit batsman, double by Ken Landreaux and single by Rick Sofield. [The Sporting News]
