. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Homers by Graig Nettles, Willie Randolph and Oscar Gamble powered the Yankees to a 5-1 victory over the Rangers. Nettles connected in the second inning after a walk to Bobby Murcer to give the Bronx Bombers a 2-0 lead.

The Rangers tallied in the top of the third on a triple by Pat Putnam and run-scoring single by Jim Sundberg. But the Yanks retaliated in the bottom of the frame on a solo round-tripper by Randolph and two-run circuit clout by Gamble. [The Sporting News]
