A bases-loaded homer by Carlton Fisk highlighted a six-run fourth inning as the White Sox thrashed the Brewers, 9-3, before a record opening day crowd of 51,550. The Sox jumped in front in the third inning on a two-run single by Greg Luzinski.

The fourth inning explosion came after two were out. Tony Bernazard singled, reached second on a walk to Bill Almon and scored on a single by Ron LeFlore. An infield hit by Mike Squires then filled the sacks for Fisk. [The Sporting News]
