Six-hit pitching by Wayne Garland carried the Indians to a 1-0 triumph over the Brewers in Milwaukee's home opener. The Indians' run came in the second inning when Toby Harrah drew a one-out walk and, one out later, tallied on a double by Bo Diaz. The Brewers put a man on third with one out in the ninth but Garland struck out Larry Hisle and got Ted Simmons on a grounder to end the game. [The Sporting News]
