Pushing across a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, the White Sox edged the Orioles, 2-1. Wayne Nordhagen opened the ninth by hitting a grounder to shortstop Mark Belanger, who threw the ball away for a two-base error.

Rusty Kuntz ran for Nordhagen and reached third on an infield hit by Greg Pryor. Bob Molinaro walked to load the bases and Tony Bernazard then got a bloop single, his fourth hit of the game, to plate the winning run. [The Sporting News]
