. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Combining on a seven-hitter, Ross Baumgarten and LaMarr Hoyt pitched the White Sox to their fifth straight victory, a 4-0 blanking of the Tigers, Detroit's sixth straight loss. The Sox tallied twice in the sixth when Tony Bernazard singled, Carlton Fisk was hit by a pitch and Lamar Johnson drove in both runners with a double. Chet Lemon added insurance with a two-run homer in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
