Homers by John Mayberry and Lloyd Moseby helped power the Blue Jays to a 7-2 triumph over the Yankees as Jackson Todd scattered six hits in going the route. Mayberry clouted a two-run homer in the first inning and Danny Ainge stroked a two-run single in the fifth. Moseby's round-tripper was a two-run inside-the-park affair and followed a run-scoring squeeze bunt by Ernie Whitt in the ninth inning. Losing pitcher Rudy May was charged with his first loss since last July 22 after winning 11 straight decisions. [The Sporting News] |
