A pinch-single by Tito Landrum in the ninth inning delivered the winning run as the Cardinals shaded the Pirates, 3-2, for their eighth straight victory. Tommy Herr singled with two out, stole second and came in on Landrum's hit. George Hendrick drove in two runs for the Cards with a homer and sacrifice fly, and Mike Easler drove in Pittsburgh's runs with a single and sacrifice fly. [The Sporting News]
